From what I heard, 55 is significantly harder than 25... I heard 25-45 hours per week on the homework was common (and you gotta remember that its only first years). A lot of people from Math 55 go on to Math PhDs at top universities while many of friends in 25 went on to get PhDs in more applied fields (Physics, CS, Stats)
