My existing DFI sensor looks perfect, and I don't understand why the app wouldn't be able to detect an issue with it independently. The $80 price tag for the component seems absurd and along with the wear on the globe it has me thinking of buying a whole new device. First one had no trouble with DFI for years; second one I bought refurbished and DFI went in 2 months. I replaced the DFI on first one, that lasted only 2 months. If Whisker does not get on top of this, they will lose their audience.

The laser version only exists on a limited production run in 2020, and when those fail, they replace them with the original IR sensors. To troubleshoot the blue blinking, let’s start by power cycling your unit: 1.) Leave your unit powered ON with the blue blinking light engaged & Unplug your power supply from the base. 2.) Wait 10 seconds then plug the unit back in. 3.) Allow the unit to complete a start‐up cycle.
