Jan 12, 2021 · Rear Hatch / Trunk Issue. Hello there, I am experiencing an issue where the rear trunk won't open automatically from inside the car using the button near the steering wheel. I've tried while in park and with & without the parking break. All it does now is like a deep beep and dosent open. It works fine outside the car using the fob. 1. Check The Power Liftgate Fuse. The fuse box is usually under the hood and on the right side of the engine bay. Check the power liftgate fuse to see if it has blown or if it has any other issues. If the power liftgate fuse is blown or has another issue, then replacing it should do the trick. 2.Switch the ignition off and close all of the doors and the liftgate. Open the driver's door. Within 30 seconds of opening the driver's door, press and hold the LOCK button on the key for 5 seconds or longer. All of the doors and the liftgate lock and the beep sound activates at the currently set volume.Always gotta remember to lock the door after closing the trunk.
