It is known that the BC780XLT did not use this serial number protocol so it was likely instituted about 2001 with the follow up BC785D and BC250D which did. It has firmware 1.10.00 and sub version 1.02.01. The Sentinel update to 2.03 went fine and now has the new tuning steps for custom searches, but I don't have any need for them. A small separate rechargeable coin like battery that was just to keep the clock going. Normally, they should last a least a few weeks to a few months if the main battery is dead. If the main battery is dead I've had mine work fine 6mo+ later. When I stop the SDS100 on the exact same frequency that the TRX-1 is decoding, programmed as a DMR freq., it doesn't even make a hit on the signal bar. This honey badger eats simulcast for breakfast. Faster scanning. Like 25-50% faster plowing through conventional channels, or 100-120 channels/second vs 80 for the x36.
